After we’ve completed and conquered the Dragon’s Back mountain hike, our first ever Hong Kong hike, we felt the urge of doing more challenging hikes. The feeling was incredible especially upon reaching the top. It was physically exhausting but it was definitely rewarding. Finishing the Dragon’s Back hike was like a warm up for more strenuous hikes and has prepared us for our next adventure. After that, we knew that we were ready for our next hiking destination, the Sunset Peak Hike.
It was freezing cold when we woke up at 5am in a tiny Tent Cabin we were renting at Half Dome Village. Summer is almost near but the temperature at night still drops to below 10 centigrade. We headed to the shared bathroom, 30 steps away from our cabin, to freshen up and proceeded to have our Western breakfast. I was just introduced to Hong Kong trails latter part of last year and I’ve been wanting to do it, eversince. The last time I hiked a mountain was over ten years ago back in the Philippines. I guess that would make me a novice or an amateur hiker. After researching about Hong Kong trails and all, along with my wife and some friends, we decided to do it and unmask the side of Hong Kong not everyone get to see. We knew that the hike would be exciting and of course, rewarding.
